Kobberkompagniet : Danish coppersmith handcraft. Years ago there were many coppersmiths in Denmark, even though it has always been an exclusive profession. Today there are only a small handful left. To be precise there are five active members of the coppersmith guild who can trace their records back to 1638, the year which is considered the year of the foundation of the guild. One of those companies are Kobberkompagniet, a representative of the real craft where each object is manufactured by hand allied to the old methods. Likewise each product is stamped with master mark as a guarantee for good and solid quality. Kobberkompagniet were established in 1990 by Coppersmith Max Michael Jensen, in the first years the company only produced coppermailboxes with big succes. Now there is several products as exclusive copperlamps and coppernumbers and in Denmark Kobberkompagniet have a lot of other tradiotional coppersmith work, the company have just finish a large project for Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, where all the old royal copper from the kitchen was to be reststored.
